Report on Career Guidance Program

Loyola Degree College (YSRR), Pulivendula, organized a Career Guidance Program on “How to Crack Group Examinations and Career Opportunities After Graduation” for the 2nd and final-year BBA students on 3rd August 2024. The event was jointly organized by the Department of BBA in collaboration with the Career Guidance Cell.

The session aimed to provide students with valuable insights into preparing for competitive examinations, particularly Group services, and to make them aware of various career options available after graduation.

The college had the privilege of inviting Ms. S. Divija, MPDO, as the Chief Guest for the program. She shared her journey of hard work and dedication that helped her achieve a prestigious Group 1 position, serving as an inspiration to the students. Her motivational talk on systematic preparation strategies, time management, and resource utilization for competitive exams greatly inspired the attendees.

A total of 200 students from the 2nd and 3rd-year BBA courses actively participated in the program. The interactive session helped them gain clarity about career planning and the importance of determination in achieving their goals.

The Department of Commerce expressed gratitude to Ms. S. Divija for her valuable guidance and to the management and Career Guidance Cell for their support in successfully organizing this program.

Report on Teachers’ Day Celebration

On 5th September 2024, Loyola Degree College (YSRR), Pulivendula, celebrated Teachers’ Day to honor and appreciate the invaluable contributions of the teaching fraternity.

The 2nd-year BBA students organized a special function to express their gratitude towards the lecturers. A total of 21 students actively participated in organizing and conducting the event.

As part of the celebration, the students felicitated staff members from various departments, acknowledging their dedication and commitment to shaping students’ futures. The program included felicitation ceremony, making the event lively and memorable.

The event successfully reflected the deep respect and admiration the students hold for their teachers, making the day a joyous and meaningful occasion for everyone present.

Report on Food Feast Organized on Fresher’s Day Celebration

Loyola Degree College (YSRR), Pulivendula, organized a Food Feast on 24th September 2024 as part of the Fresher’s Day celebrations. The event was successfully conducted by the 2nd and 3rd-year BBA students, who took complete responsibility for planning and execution.

1. Objective:

The Food Feast was organized with the objective of providing students practical exposure to entrepreneurial and business skills such as planning, budgeting, organizing, and customer service. It was also aimed at fostering teamwork and enhancing the celebration of Freshers’ Day.

The event aimed to educate students about the importance of consumer rights and the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act. A large number of students participated actively and expressed their insights on the topic.

On 1st February 2025, Loyola Degree College (YSRR), Pulivendula, organized a Career Guidance Session to help students gain clarity and motivation regarding their future goals and career paths.

As part of this initiative, we had the privilege of inviting our esteemed alumnus, Mr. G.Santhosh, who is currently working as an Assistant Manager at a private company in Chennai. Mr. G.Santhosh delivered an inspiring and informative awareness speech to our students.

During his session, he shared his personal journey, the challenges he faced, and how he overcame them to reach his current position. He emphasized the importance of:

  • Setting clear and achievable career goals
  • Maintaining discipline and consistency
  • Continuously upgrading skills and knowledge
  • Staying motivated and focused in the face of obstacles

His speech was highly motivational and useful, encouraging students to plan their careers wisely and work with determination to achieve their dreams.

Conclusion:

Currently serving as a Vice President at a private company in Bangalore, Mr. Ranjan shared his inspiring life journey and professional experiences with our students.

During the seminar, Mr. Chitra Ranjan delivered an insightful speech focusing on the importance of certification courses and how they can enhance students’ skills and employability. He also emphasized the significance of placements and the need for students to be well-prepared for job opportunities in competitive industries.

Key points highlighted during the seminar included:

Introduction

The Commerce Department of Loyola Degree College (YSRR) organized a two-day educational tour for the 2nd year BBA and B.Com students on 8th and 9th March 2025. The tour was planned to offer students practical exposure to cultural, historical, and ecological sites, complementing their academic learning with real-world experiences.

Objectives

  • To provide students with experiential learning outside the classroom.
  • To enhance understanding of cultural heritage, environmental conservation, and regional significance.
  • To promote bonding and teamwork among students.

Details of the Tour

  • Day 1:
  • The group departed early morning and visited Arunachalam, known for its spiritual and cultural importance. Students explored the temple and learned about its history and architecture.
  • Next, the visit continued to Chidambaram, famous for the Nataraja Temple. The students gained insights into religious traditions and cultural heritage.
  • The day ended with a trip to Pitchavaram, the second largest mangrove forest in India. Here, students observed the rich biodiversity and learned about environmental conservation efforts.
  • Day 2:
  • The tour concluded with a visit to Pondicherry, a former French colony known for its unique blend of French and Indian cultures. Students explored historical sites, the beachfront, and experienced the city’s cultural diversity.
  • The day included group discussions on the importance of preserving cultural and ecological heritage.

Outcomes and Learning

  • Students enhanced their knowledge of cultural history through visits to temples and heritage sites.
