Mushroom Culture

The Mushroom Culture Lab at Loyola Degree College provides students with hands-on experience in the cultivation, study, and research of edible and medicinal mushrooms. Equipped with modern tools and controlled environmental facilities, the lab allows students to explore mycology, fungal biology, and sustainable agricultural practices.

The lab serves as a practical learning platform where students gain skills in mushroom spawning, incubation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. It also encourages research on value-added products, nutritional analysis, and sustainable cultivation techniques. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, the lab prepares students for careers in biotechnology, agriculture, food industry, and entrepreneurship.

The Mushroom Culture Lab also fosters innovation, environmental awareness, and problem-solving abilities, making students capable of contributing to food security, sustainable agriculture, and rural development initiatives.
