
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Loyola Degree College is a pivotal unit established to sustain and enhance quality in education, administration, and research. The cell functions as a monitoring, advisory, and developmental body, aligning institutional practices with national and global quality standards set by NAAC, NIRF, APSCHE, and other regulatory agencies. The IQAC promotes continuous improvement, transparency, and accountability in academic and administrative processes while nurturing an environment of excellence.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Quality Enhancement and Assurance
- Develop and implement quality benchmarks for academic programs, research, administration, and student services.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching-learning processes, curriculum delivery, and assessment methods to ensure academic rigor.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines and standards laid down by NAAC, NIRF, UGC, and APSCHE.
2. Academic Audits and Documentation
- Conduct regular academic audits to assess curriculum delivery, student performance, and faculty effectiveness.
- Maintain comprehensive records, reports, and files for accreditation, audit, and institutional assessment purposes.
- Prepare and submit the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to NAAC.
3. Research and Innovation
- Promote faculty and student research initiatives, publications, and presentations.
- Facilitate seed money, grants, and interdisciplinary research projects.
- Monitor the research output and foster collaborations with industry, academia, and research organizations.
4. Curriculum Development and Review
- Support departments in designing and updating curricula according to academic trends and societal needs.
- Encourage integration of skill development, experiential learning, and technology in teaching.
5. Quality in Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities
- Ensure effective planning and monitoring of clubs, cultural events, sports, and community engagement activities.
- Maintain quality standards for student-led initiatives, NSS, NCC, and other enrichment programs.
6. Capacity Building and Training
- Organize workshops, seminars, and faculty development programs to enhance teaching quality, administrative skills, and research capabilities.
- Facilitate student training in leadership, soft skills, ethics, and employability.
7. Monitoring and Reporting
- Maintain a systematic database of academic, administrative, and co-curricular performance metrics.
- Prepare detailed reports for NAAC, NIRF, APSCHE, and other governing bodies.
- Advise management and Principal on policy formulation, infrastructure development, and quality improvement strategies.
IQAC Office and Infrastructure
- The IQAC office is strategically located in the administration block and is equipped with modern computing facilities, high-speed internet, and digital filing systems.
- The office maintains organized archives of all institutional records including AQAR, self-assessment reports, accreditation documents, feedback forms, and audit reports.
- The office acts as a liaison between departments, committees, students, faculty, and external regulatory bodies.
